To tell you more about my background as the Clinical Director – I am a Clinical Psychologist, which means I have an undergraduate degree (first class Batchelor of Science BSc Degree) in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from Hull York Medical School. Clinical Psychologists in the UK trained in this way therefore undertake a minimum of 6 years of training and have often done previous work in the area and engage in further training post qualification.
I have additional training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) being an Accredited Practitioner, with published work in this area, provision of training onto the training course and at national conferences on using CAT with trauma-related difficulties particularly. CAT is recommended for issues arising from problematic patterns in relationships and is a time-limited approach usually of 16-24 sessions.
